What a sweet and kind Tibetan/Poodle our Bamboo is! Is that a Tibpoo or a Pootan..we're not sure but it's a designer breed mix that is opportunistically being bred for their adorable looks, non-shedding cotton-soft coats and great temperaments. As a result of this human greed, these pups are being bred, sold for very high prices or dumped if they have any challenges. Farfel's is very happy to rescue these dogs and find them nurturing and committed homes. At 12 - 24 months old and just about 15 lbs, Bamboo is an incredibly beautiful guy . We all know Bamboo has arrived when we see the wag that starts at his tail and becomes a full-blown body wiggle...Bamboo is greeting either a friend or anyone who has the potential to be a future playmate. He is initially cautious...assessing the situation to make sure all is OK. This makes perfect sense as he's been through time spent at a high-kill shelter waiting for his pending euthanasia date. When he was identified with a great temperament, Farfel's spoke up to bring Bamboo to safety (and a new forever family) in Colorado. Once he senses that all present are his friends, Bamboo is so warm and friendly that he always hopes every pat and kind word will turn into a friend. Both people and other dogs are drawn to Bamboo for his kind attitude and playful ways. He is learning to play fetch and waits expectantly...with his eyes so bright and joyful..to run off again after the ball. Bamboo seems to have a bit of leash experience as he's developed some skills and seems to love the experience. Farfel's Rescue has determined that Bamboo needs a mellow home where he is an active and important member of the family. We feel that this would be more possible in an adult home (retirees would be perfect) where there's a more predictable environment. Bamboo would be overjoyed to spend parts of the day together either hiking or walking through the beauty of Colorado. Then at day's end, he's the ultimate snuggler and sleeps soundly through the night. It is Bamboo's love affair with life and all the hardships that he's suffered along the way that motivates us to put Bamboo through Heartworm treatments..his precious life deserves to be saved! Bamboo has tested low HW+ and Farfel's (with the help of Rescued Pets Movement of Houston and Dr G in Denver) has volunteered to save this very special dog's life. The heart worm treatment process involves several shots followed by a short period of quiet time for the dog. We have found this protocol to be very successful and the dogs go on to live long, happy lives. We are seeking an adopter to lovingly care for Bamboo as he becomes Heartworm negative. It's quite an easy rehab process as it only entails mellow time with soft words and belly rubs. Farfel's will pay the vet bills and provide premium food and treats for this special pup as he becomes healthily heartworm-free. Bamboo (like all dogs) would benefit from positive reinforcement obedience classes that included the whole family - he is a super-smart guy who truly wants to please. Great training will give Bamboo the skills to be an excellent adult dog. These type of classes will also bring out the great qualities of this Tibethan/Poodle as well as creating a tightly-knit bonding with all family members . Bamboo is a non-shedding pup with a beautiful coat with such distinctive markings. He will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his hair healthy and matt-free. Bamboo will arrive on transport in Denver on 10/17. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. |Rescue Me ID: 14-09-23-00085Nala (female)|
Nala is an 11lb 2 year old Lhasa apso mix. She was wandering the streets of Houston scared and alone only to be picked up by a kind civilian who thought they were doing the right thing by taking her to the shelter. Little did they know that they shelter Nala ended up at had such a high kill rate that she only had days to live. Farfel's Farm just could not let Nala be put down with that cute little face. Nala was so scared in the shelter, but now in her foster she is finally starting to remember what it was like to be an actual dog. Nala is a dog with lots of love to give despite what she has been through. She loves to play with toys and run around the house. Nala also loves to run around in the backyard. She would do best being the only dog in her household because Nala is not too sure about other dogs. Nala is GREAT with people and just loves to play and snuggle. Nala is 100% potty trained. Nala is a none shedding/very low shedding dog. She is such a smart little girl that she would just thrive in dog training. If you are interested in Nala please email us at email@example.com (Less)
