Rescue Me ID: 15-12-31-00229Oliver-PENDING! (male)

Tibetan Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

The Wheaten Terrier/Tibetan Terrier mix (although Oliver favors the Wheaten far more) is a perfect combo for those with who are searching for an extremely smart and loyal family dog. Of utmost importance...they're famous for their great temperaments and loving and snuggly ways. They're also known to be trustworthy and gentle with family members and other family pets. They do require a certain amount of exercise and truly love being with their people...if a hike is the order of the day - count Oliver in! These beautiful Terrier mixes are known to run joyfully and energetically through the Colorado mountains...and then crash on the couch ... (Read More)snuggling close to their favorite humans and canines. Oliver is an adorable and engaging guy who favors the striking golden coat of the Wheaten while taking on the very engaging Terrier qualities of the Wheaten/Tibetan mix. As is evident in his photo, Oliver's coat has been sadly ignored...after a sudsy bath and grooming, there's no question that Oliver will be one of the most handsome puppies around. Oliver definitely appears to be a non-shedding dog (although difficult to say with absolute certainty until he grows in his healthy post-shelter coat). He will therefore require a commitment to periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his hair healthy and cottony-soft. Oliver's sweet nature is just waiting to be enjoyed and appreciated...he makes close playmates everywhere he goes. Oliver is engaging and social (once comfortable in his new surroundings) and that means everyone he meets ultimately becomes a friend. You know when a loved one approaches, Oliver's tail starts the greeting and it wiggles up through his entire body ending into a smile. And if your lap is available, up Oliver would love to go to cuddle and snuggle and let you know the level of his devotion. Oliver is such a wonderful being...we think he represents the best qualities of the Terriers. At 10 months old and currently 23 lbs (anticipated to be approximately 26 - 28 lbs when full-grown), he seems to be leaving behind the neglect and lack of love that made up his early life. Oliver seems nothing but grateful for his amazing luck in earning a ticket to a new life in Colorado. Oliver is blossoming day by day into a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please - the happier his family is with his behavior, the more he shines with his accomplishments. We would like to see Oliver in a home that includes him in family time and activities...he's very social and would thrive in a family that truly loves him and considers him a very important family member. Oliver would be a wonderful companion for retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with a truly adorable young pup or a younger family who loves dogs and wants a deserving fuzzy guy to become an important member of their family . Oliver doesn't require another dog to be happy...but does enjoy his canine relationships with kind and gentle dogs. We've requested that Oliver be neutered prior to his transport to Denver. We're not optimistic that this will occur (too many dogs and not enough vets in this sad, industrial area of Kansas). Farfel's is happy to cover all costs for Oliver's neuter/microchip at our Denver vet immediately following his arrival in Colorado. Oliver will be arriving on transport in Denver on 1/5/16. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at If you're interested in this sweet and cuddly puppy, please fill out and return to or mail a hard copy to Farfel's Farm 906 Pearl Street Boulder, CO 80302.
